I am a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner working in pediatric headache/pain medicine for the past 15+ years at a large Pediatric teaching institution in the Northeast.  I’ve been a nurse for 45 years and a PNP for 28 years.

Over the years I have heard from many patients, providers and NP students that headache is one of the most frequent reasons for a visit to a pediatric practice and that they would like more pediatric-friendly information to use in their practice and to share with patients.

I am the author of the book, “Getting Ahead of Pediatric Headaches: A comprehensive guide for nurse practitioners to manage headaches in children and adolescents”,  released in early October 2020.

I also just published, “Getting Ahead of Your Child’s Headaches, a guide for families”, released in November 2024. This was a labor of love for my patients and families, who are all in need of more current and appropriate information to grow and thrive in our busy world.

My goal for this blog and my books is to provide timely information about caring for kids and teens with all kinds of headache, in a common sense, straight-forward way, full of authenticity and humor.
